This report is used for estate valuation purposes. Sometimes it is necessary to determine inheritance tax on an item. Appraisals of this nature are based on fair market value and commonly include comparable sales. Appraisals of this nature are also used for equitable division of assets in divorce and estate probate proceedings as well as estate planning purposes.
